The United States Will Impose High Double Anti-tariffs On Steel Truck Hub Made In China

On Wednesday, the International Trade Commission (ITC) found that steel truck hubs imported from China had caused substantial damage to domestic manufacturers and would impose high tariffs on these imports for five years. The U.S. Department of Commerce has previously ruled that these imported Chinese hubs are suspected of dumping and enjoy unfair subsidies.

The decision came after the U.S. Department of Commerce ruled in March that it would impose 321% anti-dumping duty and 457% anti-subsidy duty on all Chinese steel hub manufacturers.

The ruling was directed at 22.5-Inch and 24.5-inch steel hubs made in China, mainly for medium and large trucks and other commercial vehicles. In 2017, imports of such hub products in the United States totalled $388 million.
