JSPL Crude Steel Production was Flat in April 2020
By April 2020, the combined crude steel production of Jindal Iron and Steel Power Co.(JSPL) remained at 650,000 tons, the same as in the same period last year. But in April, its combined sales fell 29% from a year earlier.
The virus and blockade adversely affected economic activity and reduced steel sales in India. But steel production in india's JSPL grew by 5% year-on-year, and sales of JSPL's exported steel grew a lot. The quantity of steel exported accounts for about 74% of total steel sales.
Although India's domestic steel demand is low, JSPL still exports large quantities of steel to Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Europe.
